Dryer lint from the lint catcher on most common household clothes-dryer make GREAT fire-starters. It's readily available, doesn't cost a dime, weighs next to nothing, compacts easily so you can carry a lot and as long as you keep in a quality zip-lock bag you'll always have it dry. CHECK OUT THE VIDEO in the post on the forum. One strike is all it takes from a quality flint-striker.
